Adams County's Boundaries
Adams County: May 1, 1805
Highland County, the next county to be carved from Adams' terrain, claimed 60 square miles from her ancestral parent's northern section, leaving 780 square miles to Adams. In addition to this removal, Pike County, upon its creation 01 Feb 1815, acquired the northeastern corner of Adams County. The northern, northeastern, and eastern boundaries of Adams County are now fixed through the formation of its children-counties.
