Elmer C. Chenoweth
Elmer C. Chenoweth, 83, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at a Hillsboro hospital. Born March 17, 1914, in Adams County, a son of the late Ernest and Bessie (Freeze) Chenoweth, he was a retired well driller. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Carter Chenoweth; three stepsons, Jack Heffner of Piketon, Isaac Heffner of Beaver and Ed Heffner of Hillboro; five stepdaughters, Betty Christian of Mississippi; Becky Blair of Beaver, Beauty Travis of Lucasville, Betsy Thompson of Piketon and Bettina Nichols of Lucasville; two sisters, Lucille Parker of Hillsboro and Vergie Kerns of Latham; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Brooke-Lafferty-Wallace and Thompson in Peebles, with Donald Lewis officiating, and interment in Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
