Ephraim Flaugher

Ephraim Flaugher, son of William and Parthenia Flaugher, was born in Brown County, October 25,1874, and departed this life Sunday, April 10, 1927, aged 79 years, 5 months and 15 days. He was the oldest son of a family of eight children, four sisters and three brothers surviving to mourn the loss of a brother. He was married to Jennie Kennedy, of Aberdeen, Ohio, November 14, 1871. To this union, seven children were born, all living except Albert, the eldest child and only son, who died August 6, 1916. The six daughters are: Emma Powell, Newtown; Lucy Smittle, Youngsville; Dessie Frump, Peebles; Nellie Horner, Cincinnati; Flora Jones, Cincinnati; and Elsie Knechtly, of Lawshe, with whom he made his home the last few years of his life, his wife having preceded him in death some seven years ago. Fifteen grandchildren are left to mourn the loss of a grandfather from whom they never heard a harsh or cross word. Mr. Flaugher was of a jovial disposition, was a respected citizen, a good neighbor and a kind and affectionate husband and father, a man who loved his home above everything else. He will be greatly missed in the home and in the community where he was everybody's friend.

A Neighbor.

Our poor aged father
Has gone to rest,
With his worn and withered
Hands, folded upon his breast.

Of course we miss the presence
Of our father dear,
Amd it will cause many a
Heartache aand gushing tear.

He passed away so quitly
From this place of sorrow and pain;
Oh,why,oh, why, should
We wish for hom to remain?

For there is a brighter place
In the wonderful dazzling sky
where we hope to meet him
In the beautiful beyond, bye and bye.
