Earl Moore



Earl Moore, 73, of Peebles, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. He was born on Feb. 11, 1926, in Wheelwright, Ky., the son of the late Zollie C. and Julia (Branham) Moore. He worked on the C&O Railroad and was a member of the Peebles DAV Post #71, Laborers Local #1445, Ashland, Ky., and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice (Hayslip) Moore, whom he married on Oct. 21, 1947; three sons, Earl Moore of Lancaster, Randy Moore of Huntington, W.Va., and Rickey Moore of Peebles; one daughter, Debbi Moore of Cookeville, Tenn; one sister, Ival Hammond of Radcliffe, Ky.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 26, at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union, with Dave Hopkins and Boyd Young officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery, with military graveside services performed by the Adams County Honor Guard. Visitation was held Friday, Jun 25, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
