Lois M. Nichols



Lois M. Nichols, 59, of Peebles, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at her residence. She was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on August 3, 1943, the daughter of Francis and Kathryn (Kirker) White. Mrs. Nichols worked for the Board of Elections in Adams County. She was a member of the Dunkinsville United Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #396, the Shakespeare Club of Peebles, and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her husband, Dean Nichols, to whom she was married on March 26, 1965; her mother, Kathryn White of Otway; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Gary Shupert of Seaman, and Megan and Donnie McCarty of West Union; four grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry White of Portsmouth, Kenneth White and Roger White, both of Otway; two sisters, Joyce Bellomy of Waverly and Mary Kay Bates of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis White. Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 3 p.m. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Joe Gilkison officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Nancy Knauff, 7222 Old State Route 32, Peebles, Ohio 45660.
