Sarah "Sally" Ward Purtee
Sarah "Sally" Ward Purtee, 80, of New Vienna, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at the Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. She was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Adams County, the daughter of Clarence A. and Clara B. (Yankey) Ward. Before retirement, she worked at Webster Elementary School cafeteria and for the Highland County Senior Citizens. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and David BoCook of New Vienna; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Kerr and Nola Irene Ward. Funeral services were held Friday, March 10, at the Turner and Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with Sid Clay officiating. Burial followed in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
