Mildred A. Tener



Mildred A. Tener, 92, of the Locust Grove community, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at the Laurels of Hillsboro. She was born in Adams County on Aug 1, 1910, the daughter of the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Newman) Lawrence. She was a member of the Conaway Chapel United Methodist Church and the UMW. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna and Charles Lindsey of Greenfield, Willa Jean and Claude Coulter of Washington Court House, Martha and Eugene Herdman of Peebles, Elizabeth and Bob Fulton of Hillsboro; one sister, Bonnie Smith of Columbus; one brother, Norman Lawrence of Indiana; five granchildren, Deborah (Ed) Williams of South Solon, Brenda (Dan) Ervin of Washington Court House, Russell (Debra) Lindsey of Washington Court House, Connie (Ned) Lewis of Hillsboro and Donna Herdman of South Charleston; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Russell Tener, who died Dec. 13, 1985; one daughter, Juanita Tener; one sister, Melva Cobler; two brothers, Edgar Lawrence and Charles E. Lawrence. Services were held Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Phil Fulton officiating. Burial took place in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
