William Kelly Unger
William Kelly Unger, son of Samuel and Elizabeth Unger, was born on Mt. Unger, April 8, 1861, departed this life September 13, 1920, aged 59 years, 5 months and 5 days.
He was united in marriage to Sophia Jacobs, February 19, 1881. To this union were born six children, Margaret, Samuel, Henry, James, Arthur and Icy May. Three of whom have preceded him to the Happy Beyond. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, three sons, an aged father, six sisters and two brothers and a host of friends.
He was united with the Baptist church at the age of seventeen and lived a devoted Christian until the end came.
It is sometimes hard for us to understand
why these things come.
Not now, but in the coming years, it may
be in the better land;
We'll read the meaning of our tears
And there, sometime we'll understand.
Peaceful be thy silent slumber,
Peaceful in thy grave so low;
Thou no more will join our number,
Thou no more our sorrows know.
Yet again we hope to meet thee,
When the day of life is fled;
And in heaven with joy to greet thee,
Where no farewell tears are shed.
