Nella Whitley
Nella Whitley, 88, of Rainsboro, died Saturday at 8 p.m. in Greenfield Municipal Hospital. She had been sick for five years. Born on Sept. 4, 1891, in Adams County, she was the daughter of Samuel Frost and Susan White Frost. Married to Holt Whitley, who preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 1962, Mrs. Whitley was a former employee of the American Pad and Textile Co. and a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, Peebles. She is survived by five sons, Russell T. of Ramona, Calif., Ray of Peebles, Berlin of Greenfield, and John of Rainsboro; three daughters, Mrs. Nelson (Ruby) Heaton of Greenfield, Mrs. Steve (Clarice) Wheatherby of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Len (Ruth) Gray, of Waverly Rt. 4; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roby, who died on Dec. 31, 1951, and Leo, who died on Jan. 20, 1969. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Murray's Funeral Home with the Rev. James C. Shady officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Peebles. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
