Stella E. Workman
Stella E. Workman, 97, of Peebles, passed away Dec. 16, 1995, at Eagle Creek Nursing Center in West Union. She was born May 22, 1898, at Mineral Springs, in Adams County near Peebles, the daughter of the late Elmer and Laura (Nichols) Smalley. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Workman, in 1969; two sons, five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Bertha Thompson of Hillsboro; three granchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was a member of the Rarden Methodist Church. Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Brooke-Lafferty-Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with the Rev. James Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
